Ulaunchelf v4.12 iso.zip - Google Drive.
Just saying, but I think you need the burned CD and the files on USB (then you need to open the installer from uLaunch blah blah) to get the FMCB installer working so why go through the trouble when I made a CD iso that just takes you straight to the installer w/o needing to go through uLaunch and w/o needing a USB device? Get this: burn it to CD for swapping w/ a SM CD, then press 'x' for this screen instantly ( no uLaunch 'hunting' just boot the installer!): Either way it's whatever floats your boat, I'm just sayin this is easier.
Here is a simple Iso from Ulaunch for all noobs they have Probs with that stuff. @dlanor when you want can you made them sticky There are some problems to consider here. If a sticky for this is to be useful, it should be generic, not specific to just one version, so the title would definitely need to be changed. Perhaps to something like 'uLaunchELF ISO releases'.
Another problem is that if everyone can post there, then the releases will soon drown in irrelevant chatting, like it happens in nearly all such threads. But closing the thread means that I'd have to handle all such releases myself, which I really don't want to do. I'll think about it, and await more input, and if others want it too, then OK. Best regards: dlanor. Actually this is a really good idea IMO, even with it 'just' being v3.72. I regard this as a stable release, with very few known bugs or deficiencies. It's even more logical in the light of all the work with the substantial new functionality 'round HDD intruduced in 3.73.
The point is that this ISO will make it very easy for n00bs to 'bootstrap' and start using uLE. If this has existed when I started, I certainly would have used it no matter if it'd been an older version of uLE. Most newcomers will either have a mod chip or use a swap trick which they're already familiar with, and so should be able to boot this CD-R without asking any questions at all. (Correct me if I'm missing something here. ) Once uLE 3.72 has been started from this CD-R, it's very easy to copy it to mc0: and then take it from there, upgrading to a later version of the ELF using one of the many methods available to you.
Or just put a newer version onto mc0: straight away. Just my €0.5 worth;-) EDIT: of course, the big benefit of 'bootstrapping' like I mean above will only apply to people with a mod chip having Dev1 mode (able to boot straight from mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF or simliar). For ppl with mod chips not having this functionality, I guess they will want to create a new bootable CD/DVD with new versions of uLE anyway and so have to learn how to do that. /M Last edited by var3gen; at 09:01 AM.
